“Phineas and Ferb Revival Series Creator Shares Exciting Update Amid Writer’s Guild Strike”
The creator of the beloved animated series, Phineas and Ferb, Dan Povenmire, has provided an exciting update on the revival of the show despite the ongoing Writer’s Guild strike. After its initial premiere in 2007, Phineas and Ferb became a highly successful Disney series, earning multiple Primetime Emmy Awards. Although the original series concluded in 2015, it was recently announced that 40 new episodes have been ordered, with Povenmire and Jeff “Swampy” Marsh returning as executive producers.
Povenmire took to TikTok to announce that production for the Phineas and Ferb revival officially began on May 3. He expressed his enthusiasm for the project while acknowledging the challenges of simultaneously working on another show, Hamster and Gretel. Povenmire assured fans that the writer’s strike would not affect either series.
While details about the new Phineas and Ferb series remain scarce, Vincent Martella, the original voice actor for Phineas, has hinted at his return. The revival is expected to consist of at least 40 episodes spread across two seasons, with the potential for further renewals. Povenmire hinted that some episodes might explore different time periods, including the characters’ teenage years. Perry the Platypus and Dr. Doofenshmirtz are also set to make a comeback.
With Povenmire and Marsh heavily involved in the project, fans can expect the soul of the series to remain intact. Although the release date for the new episodes has yet to be announced, the unaffected writers’ room suggests a relatively swift arrival within the next couple of years.
