New preview reveals storyline for JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure Part 9

Fans of the popular anime and manga series, JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, have been eagerly anticipating the release of the ninth installment, JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure Part 9: The JOJOLands, which is set to debut in Japan in just a month. As the release date draws closer, more and more details about the story, premise, and characters are finally starting to emerge, much to the excitement of fans.

The latest issue of Ultra Jump, a popular Japanese manga magazine, contains a new preview of the highly anticipated series. The preview, which covers several pages, includes a full sketch of the new Joestar (which had previously leaked), as well as several other sketches of various scenes and panels in an early state. Additionally, the preview offers a summary of the premise of JoJo’s Part 9, stating that “this is the story of a boy in the subtropical islands who goes on to become extremely rich.” This statement is very similar to dialogue from early chapters of Parts 7 and 8, which also began with the phrase “this is the story…” followed by a brief description of the entire story to come.

Aside from the premise, the sketches on the page also offer some intriguing details about the new installment. The main sketch depicts police officers at an airport surrounded by palm trees, strongly suggesting a (sub)tropical setting. The notes alongside the sketches, translated by jojo-news.com, reveal even more hints about the setting, such as mentions of surfboards and volcanic lava. While the exact location of The JOJOLands remains unknown, the ending of Part 8, Jojolion, suggested that it would take place “in lands far to the south” of Japan. As there are many volcanic islands in the Southern Pacific Ocean, it seems likely that the story will be set in that region.

Although the preview doesn’t reveal a great deal of new information, it does offer enough to give fans a sense of what to expect from the new series. The sailboat, which has been featured prominently in earlier promotional material, continues to appear in the sketches, suggesting that the new adventure may be sea-based, a departure from previous JoJo stories. The “lands far to the south” comment from Part 8 referred to a powerful fruit called the Locacaca, which has incredible powers of equivalent exchange. The Locacaca played a significant role in Jojolion, but all surviving examples were lost. If the new Joestar were to find the Locacaca in these islands, that would certainly set him on a path to riches. However, given its value, it’s likely that many other people will be after it as well, and not all of them will play fair.

The new character is said to be a descendant of the new Joestar continuity’s Joseph Joestar, who was introduced in Part 8. This suggests that he may have some of Joseph’s qualities, although it remains to be seen how the character will develop. Additionally, there has been much speculation about other characters in the series who may be Joestar descendants, with some fans suggesting that they resemble Jolyne from the popular Stardust Crusaders and Diamond is Unbreakable eras.

Overall, while the new preview doesn’t reveal everything about JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure Part 9: The JOJOLands, it certainly gives fans plenty to speculate about as they eagerly await its release.
