Pixar Movies That Haven’t Had Sequels
- Toy Story (1995) – The original Toy Story is the film that started it all for Pixar. While it led to a highly successful franchise with three sequels, it remains the only film in the series that had not received a sequel or spin-off as of 2021.
- A Bug’s Life (1998) – This charming tale about a misfit ant named Flik has not seen a sequel or spin-off in the Pixar universe.
- Ratatouille (2007) – Despite its critical acclaim and unique premise centered around a rat with culinary aspirations, Ratatouille had not yet received a sequel or spin-off as of 2021.
- Up (2009) – Up is a touching adventure that tells the story of Carl Fredricksen and Russell’s journey to South America using helium balloons. As of 2021, it remained a standalone feature in Pixar’s catalog.
- Brave (2012) – Brave follows the adventures of Princess Merida in the mystical Scottish Highlands, and it had not yet seen a sequel or spin-off as of my last update.
- The Good Dinosaur (2015) – This Pixar film explores an alternate history where dinosaurs never went extinct and follows the journey of a young dinosaur named Arlo. It had not received any sequels or spin-offs as of 2021.
- Coco (2017) – Coco is a beautifully animated musical that delves into Mexican culture and the Day of the Dead tradition. It tells the story of Miguel’s journey to the Land of the Dead to discover his family’s history. As of 2021, it had not had a sequel.
- Onward (2020) – Onward is a modern fantasy film that explores themes of brotherhood and magic in a suburban fantasy world. It follows the quest of two elf brothers, Ian and Barley Lightfoot. It had not received any sequels or spin-offs as of 2021.
Please keep in mind that developments or announcements may have occurred since my last update in September 2021, so it’s possible that some of these films have seen sequels or spin-offs in the time since then.
