Preview of Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest anime

The anticipation for the anime adaptation of Fairy Tail’s sequel manga, Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest, is at an all-time high. With the confirmation of an anime series in July 2021, fans have been eagerly waiting for more details regarding its release. While the anime release details have been somewhat vague, with hints of an announcement in late 2023 and a possible release date in 2024, the hype surrounding the series is palpable.

Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest is the sequel to Hiro Mashima’s popular manga and anime series, Fairy Tail. As with its predecessor, the sequel is set to take the anime world by storm. The manga follow-up began in July 2018, and its anime adaptation is set to continue where the original Fairy Tail left off. Natsu, Lucy, Gray, Erza, Wendy, Happy, and Carla have embarked on a 100 Years quest in the northern continent of Guiltina. The job is so difficult that nobody has been able to complete it in at least a century. But, as usual, Natsu is confident that he can succeed with the help of his friends.

Acnologia floats in the sky while in dragon form in Fairy Tail.

The 100 Years Quest requires the group to seal the Five Dragon Gods, powerful beings that have the potential to wreak havoc on a global scale. Each dragon is on the same level of threat as Acnologia of the previous series, making the task at hand even more daunting. However, the dragons are not the only challenge that Natsu and his friends must face. They are also up against a new mage, Touka, who has joined the Fairy Tail guild in hopes of meeting Natsu. While she seems like a nice fit for the guild, she harbors a sinister personality deep inside of her. Known as the White Mage, this dangerous being apparently has the ability to steal and erase others’ magic. She is the Zeref of this series, and she is referred to as such.

As if this weren’t enough, there’s another major antagonistic faction in 100 Years Quest: Diabolos. While trying to seal the Five Dragon Gods, Natsu and his friends find themselves at odds with this Guiltina-based guild, which is comprised entirely of members who gain their abilities by either eating dragons or cannibalizing other Dragon Slayers. Since the goal is to “seal” the Dragon Gods and not “slay” them, Natsu and his friends would like to complete their task as assigned if they can help it. In any case, Diabolos doesn’t exactly have the best of intentions, so it would be best if they didn’t get their hands on the Dragon Gods’ power.

Fans of the original Fairy Tail series are in for a treat with Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest. The sequel has everything that made the original series such a hit: plenty of cameos from old characters, callbacks to the original series, comedy, fanservice, action, and everything else that gave Fairy Tail its unique charm. With all these elements, the series is bound to keep veteran fans happy while winning over newer anime fans with its exhilarating action and likable characters.

While we don’t know the exact release date of the first slew of episodes, the anticipation and buzz surrounding the upcoming anime series are off the charts. Fans of the original series are eager to see how the sequel will continue the story and what new challenges the characters will face. As long as the anime can capture the magic of the manga, it should be met with great success and become another smash hit in the world of anime.
