Sailor Moon Cosmos has welcomed veteran voice actors, exciting fans and promising a fresh perspective while honoring the franchise’s legacy.

The Sailor Moon franchise has long been a beloved icon of Japanese pop culture, capturing the hearts of audiences across generations with its magical girl themes and empowering message of friendship and love. The franchise began with the manga series created by Naoko Takeuchi, which was serialized in Kodansha’s Nakayoshi magazine from 1991 to 1997. It was soon followed by the anime adaptation produced by Toei Animation, which premiered in 1992 and aired until 1997, with five seasons in total: Sailor Moon, Sailor Moon R, Sailor Moon S, Sailor Moon SuperS, and Sailor Moon Sailor Stars.

In recent years, the franchise has seen a resurgence with the new anime adaptation Sailor Moon Crystal, which began airing in 2014. The latest addition to the franchise is the upcoming Sailor Moon Cosmos two-part anime film, which follows the 2021 release of Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Eternal: The Movie.
