“Toonami Welcomes Back Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon to its Anime Lineup”
Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon’s highly anticipated return has been announced on Toonami’s Facebook page. The second season of the series will join Toonami’s programming starting on July 30, alongside other popular shows like Primal, Naruto: Shippuden, Attack on Titan, One Piece, Shenmue, and Lupin the 3rd Part 5.
Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon, produced by Sunrise (now known as Bandai Namco Filmworks), serves as a sequel to the beloved anime adaptation of Rumiko Takahashi’s Inuyasha manga. The story follows the twin daughters of Rin and Sesshomaru, Towa and Setsuna, as well as Inuyasha and Kagome’s daughter, Moroha, as they embark on a journey to reunite with their parents and recover lost memories. Directed by Teruo Sato and written by Katsuyuki Sumisawa, the series features talented voice actors such as Azusa Tadokoro, Mikako Komatsu, and Sara Matsumoto.
Toonami’s English dub of Yashahime features Erica Mendez, Kira Buckland, and Morgan Berry as the voices of Towa, Setsuna, and Moroha, respectively. The sequel also sees the return of David Kaye, Kira Tozer, Brenna O’Brien, and Richard Ian Cox reprising their iconic roles from the original Inuyasha anime series.
While the third season of Yashahime is uncertain, fans can continue to follow the adventures of the half-demon princesses in the Yashahime manga spinoff by Takashi Shiina. Two volumes of the manga have been released, with the first volume becoming available in English through Viz Media last month. For those eager to catch up on the series, both Seasons 1 and 2 of Yashahime are currently available for streaming on Hulu and Crunchyroll.
