“Hunter x Hunter” creator updates fans on his hiatus and health

Yoshihiro Togashi, the creator of the popular manga series Hunter x Hunter, has recently provided a promising update about the status of the series and his health. In a tweet shared with fans, Togashi revealed that he has finished illustrating the latest chapter of the ongoing Hunter x Hunter series, Chapter 401, which is great news for fans who have been eagerly waiting for new content.

However, Togashi also expressed concerns about the production system for the manga, suggesting that it may not be solidified yet. Nevertheless, he remains optimistic about his working time at the desk, stating that it is gradually increasing little by little. This progress is a good sign for the series, as it suggests that Togashi is making strides in managing his chronic back pain, which has caused several hiatuses in the past.

The Hunter x Hunter franchise has had a turbulent time in recent years due to Togashi’s health struggles. The series went on a four-year hiatus in November 2018, deeply impacting the release schedule and leaving fans without new content for a long time. The series returned in 2022, releasing more chapters in October, but an additional hiatus was announced only two months later in December due to Togashi’s struggles with managing his back pain.

Despite the hiatuses, Hunter x Hunter remains a beloved series with a dedicated fanbase. The story follows a young boy named Gon Freecss, who sets out on a quest to become the world’s best Hunter and to find his missing father, a famous Hunter who left their family years ago.
