DreamWorks Animation Faces Workforce Reduction, Slashing 4% of Employees

This reduction amounts to around 70 positions across various departments, encompassing corporate functions, feature film production, television, and technology. The studio’s decision aligns with an overarching cost-reduction initiative aimed at weathering the current industry challenges.

A spokesperson from DreamWorks Animation provided insight into the workforce adjustments, stating, ‘DreamWorks Animation reduced its workforce by approximately 70 positions.’ The impact extends across multiple areas within the studio, reflecting a comprehensive effort to streamline operations.

Despite these workforce reductions, the studio remains optimistic about its prospects, placing hope in the imminent release of the third installment of the Trolls movie franchise. ‘Trolls Band Together,’ slated for release on November 17, promises to be a standout cinematic experience. Notably, the film features the eagerly anticipated reunion of *Nsync, who will be performing a song for the film’s soundtrack. The animated feature boasts an impressive ensemble cast, including Justin Timberlake, Anna Kendrick, Camila Cabello, Eric André, Kid Cudi, Troye Sivan, Daveed Diggs, Amy Schumer, RuPaul, Kenan Thompson, and more.
