New Sailor Moon Cosmos trailer features Mars and Venus.

Sailor Moon fans, mark your calendars because both parts of the Sailor Moon Cosmos anime films will be released in June! To hype up the upcoming release, the franchise has been releasing character trailers that showcase the Sailor Guardians as they travel down the solar system. This week’s focus is on Eternal Sailor Mars and Eternal Sailor Venus, two of the Inner Guardians, who are featured in a combined character trailer that was recently released on the franchise’s YouTube channel in shorts format.

Directed by Tomoya Takahashi, who previously worked as an assistant director for Gatchaman Crowds, both parts of the Sailor Moon Cosmos anime films will be produced by Toei Animation and Studio Deen. The screenplay will be written by Kazuyuki Fudeyasu, who has worked on popular anime such as That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime. Meanwhile, Kazuko Tadano, who designed the characters for Sailor Moon seasons 1 and 2, will return once more to design the characters for Sailor Moon Cosmos. Yasuharu Takanashi, who produced the music for Sailor Moon Crystal, will also be producing the music for the upcoming films. Additionally, Yumiko Kuga from Studio Jack, who previously worked on Deaimon: Recipe for Happiness, will serve as the art director for the films.

Sailor Moon Cosmos will adapt the “final battle” from the original manga series by Naoko Takeuchi, which was previously adapted as the last arc of the original Sailor Moon anime known as “Sailor Moon Sailor Stars.” The first part of Sailor Moon Cosmos is set to release on June 9, while the second part will hit theaters on June 30.

Sailor Moon Cosmos is a continuation of the Sailor Moon Eternal two-part film, which was released in early 2021 in Japan and later on Netflix on June 3, around the world. Sailor Moon Eternal continued the Sailor Moon Crystal TV anime series. The show follows Sailor Moon as she searches for her fellow Sailor Guardians and the Legendary Silver Crystal to stop the dark forces of Queen Beryl, and it is based on Naoko Takeuchi’s legendary manga series.
