Gen V’s Patrick Schwarzenegger is open to becoming the new Green Lantern in the DCU

Patrick Schwarzenegger has expressed his openness to take on the role of Hal Jordan in the DC Universe. Following the conclusion of Gen V’s first season, Schwarzenegger is available for his next project and is willing to join the new Green Lantern series if DC Studios executives decide to cast him. Although he doesn’t actively follow comic book movie rumors, Schwarzenegger confirmed in a recent interview that he’s ready for the role.

In a discussion with CBR, Schwarzenegger mentioned, “I am not on those things, the theories and stuff. I am not caught up. I’m available.”

Green Lanterns, set to debut on Max as part of the DCU’s Chapter One, features Hal Jordan and John Stewart. While Nathan Fillion has been cast as Guy Gardner, no further casting details or creative team information has been disclosed for the series.

As for the broader DC Universe slate, the “Gods and Monsters” lineup, as revealed by Gunn and Safran, includes movies such as Superman: Legacy, The Brave and the Bold, Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, Swamp Thing, and The Authority. Additionally, HBO Max will host television shows like Waller, Booster Gold, Lanterns, Paradise Lost, and an animated Creature Commandos series.

Gunn and Safran expressed their excitement about being stewards of beloved DC characters, emphasizing their commitment to creating an integrated and multilayered universe. The DCU’s ambitious plans aim to tell significant, beautiful, and grand stories while invigorating the theatrical experience globally.

Gen V, the first live-action spinoff of The Boys, is set in Godolkin University, a college parodying Marvel’s X-Men comics. Described as a “Hunger Games” at a college for young supes aspiring to join Vought’s super teams, the show is executive produced by Eric Kripke, Seth Rogen, and Evan Goldberg. Jaz Sinclair, Chance Perdomo, and Lizze Broadway lead the cast.
