Sailor Moon Anime Reflects on 3rd Season Prior to Cosmos Film Premiere

As the highly anticipated Sailor Moon Cosmos anime films prepare to hit Japanese theaters in just over a week, the official Sailor Moon YouTube channel has released a new video that takes a nostalgic look back at the Crystal storyline. Specifically, this video delves into season three and introduces viewers to the formidable villains known as the Death Busters.

The upcoming Sailor Moon Cosmos films, directed by Tomoya Takahashi and produced by Toei Animation and Studio Deen, have gathered a talented team. Kazuyuki Fudeyasu handles the screenplay, Kazuko Tadano returns as the character designer, Yasuharu Takanashi produces the music, and Yumiko Kuga serves as the art director.

Sailor Moon Cosmos will adapt the thrilling “final battle” from Naoko Takeuchi’s original manga series, previously depicted in the final arc of the original Sailor Moon anime, Sailor Moon Sailor Stars. The first film of Cosmos is set to release on June 9, followed by the second part on June 30.

Cosmos continues the story from the Sailor Moon Eternal films, which premiered in early 2021 in Japan and globally on Netflix on June 3. Sailor Moon Crystal, the TV anime series that Eternal extends, is currently available for streaming on Crunchyroll. It retells the iconic tale of Sailor Moon’s quest to find her fellow Sailor Guardians and the Legendary Silver Crystal, in order to thwart the dark forces led by Queen Beryl.”
